Splash 2014

Splash 2014 is Kew Primary School’s first annual art show.  The inaugural show will be held from Friday October 17 to Sunday October 19. The exhibition will have an emphasis on good quality, affordable contemporary art by some of Melbourne’s most exciting, emerging and established artists.

The show gives you a chance to buy an original piece of art or a limited edition print to enhance your home. Your purchase is also making a contribution to the on-going arts and cultural program available to students at Kew Primary School.

Our History

Kew Primary School is the oldest school in Kew and was established on November 1, 1870. It predates the commencement of State education with its genesis lying in the year the colony was founded, namely, 1851. Nicholas Fenwick was recognized as the founder of Kew when he purchased an area of 122 acres (Lot 87) on which Kew Primary School now stands.  Visit school website.

About

Our Vision

"Kew Primary School’s Art Show aims to celebrate art, enhance the cultural experience of its pupils and engage the local and broader community who have a keen interest in the world of art.

I strongly believe that Kew Art Show will surprise and delight all of those who participate in it; from the contributing artists and students, to the community in Kew who we hope will view and purchase the art. This not-to-be-missed event celebrates creativity at its best, while at the same time providing vital support to Kew Primary School."

Claire Tanner

Kew Primary School PTA President and Artists Selection Committee member.
